I always get excited in the spring watching Papaw lay out his garden. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved to help. We have all learned firsthand from Papaw how to perfectly create and plant a garden.

Jackson and Abigail planting onions, notice the purse and doll…necessities in the dirt!

Last year Isabela was in the stroller. She was so excited to step over the rows and to cram the onions in the soil with her brother and sister!

Papaw spreading fertilizer, Nana, Jackson, and Abigail planting beans, and Isabela carrying a bag of white onions. Check out those perfectly straight rows!

Isabela’s look at Jackson and Abigail cracks me up. After this photo, she slipped away with those onions from their bag and we found them all over the place.

Happy she has a new hopefully life long skill of gardening!

For a couple of days we helped put out some of the early garden. We planted two kinds of potatoes, onions, beets, beans, peas, and cabbage. Can’t wait to see the new growth. Thanks Papaw and Nana for keeping our fields full of food to nourish our body!
